Kathy was feeling congested and kept coughing last night and today. I tried to take care of her the best that I could, but we were afraid she was getting walking pneumonia again like she got last summer. She didn't want to go through that again, so we went to the doctor. He wrote her a prescription just in case, and I should have known we were in trouble when she said he told her that there was no generic for it. But it was for 8 pills only, so how bad could it be? How about $103 and change? I'm glad we have some savings to fall back on, but ouch!

Being a guy, one aspect where I'm with the program is that I'm always wanting a bigger and better TV. And one way my wife isn't with program with her gender is that she's interested in bigger TVs as well. Don't you wish you had problems like these, guys? Gee, Favs, it's great you're so appreciative of Comicon for putting the Iron Man movie on the map and all, but 1) all 125,000 people weren't at your panel, and 2) even if every attendee bought a ticket at, say, $10, that's only $1,250,000. Can you imagine having that opening weekend and nothing more? How about some love for those of us who didn't get to Comicon?
And now that Comicon's over, ironically Brian Cronin's parents are going to San Diego. They're delivering a car to his youngest sibling and have been blogging about the trip.

The new school season is starting up soon, and there are going to be some obstacles that students and parents will encounter. Some of these problems are anticipated that have to do with schoolwork and I would hope that parents would take a better approach than "trying a little bit harder". And there's some subjects that they feel overwhelmed on and realize that they need algebra help. And it won't be long before they start looking for free online algebra help.

Even though it hasn't been that hot around these parts, I can't see being without auto air conditioning. I've been through that before and it's not something I want to go through again. Not a dream, not a hoax, not an imaginary story. Marvel just announced they got the rights to Marvelman. But hold off on popping the champagne and dancing in the streets. Looking at the illustration and the name Miracleman is absent and talk is of a deal with creator Nick Angelo, I did some digging online, and here's what I found out so far: it looks like they've got the rights to reprint the original stories from the 1950s and 1960s, and they're working on getting together the rights for the 1980s revival. Bleeding Cool has the details of the new deal and the tangled copyright history.
My guess would be that Neil Gaiman is on board for Marvel to reprint the revival series, as I understood that Alan Moore transferred his rights to Gaiman when he assumed writing the comic. And Marvel and Gaiman have the "Marvels & Miracles LLC" company to sort out the rights and get them untangled. Now it's a matter of getting the permissions from the other artists involved.

I've been hearing about how school's going to start next month. But that doesn't mean that there still isn't time to enjoy a vacation.
