I was starting to get my order ready from this month's Previews catalog when I happened upon a solicitation for the Criminal Omnibus. I didn't see it in the Marvel Previews, and another look didn't come up with it. I just happened on it because when you pull up Marvel at the DCBS site (the place where I get my comics) the Icon listings come up by default until you pull up a section of the Marvel solicits (Marvel Heroes, MAX, X-Men, etc) you want to look at. There's space for a picture, but it isn't coming up at this time. But the problem isn't on DCBS' site: in fact, I wouldn't have known about this book unless I came across it here. The mixup looks to be on the Diamond/Marvel level. I went to the Previews website and pulled up this month's order form that says the book is supposed to be on page 82 of the Marvel Previews with the Death of Captain America Omnibus. Only the Death of Captain America is on that page. The order code for the book is JUN09 0605 and it retails for $49.95, and they say it's scheduled to come out in November. I've got it on my order for now, but I wonder if they're going to resolicit it due to the lack of copy or if it wasn't supposed to be there in the first place. The thing is that I pay next month for the books I order this month, and even with a 50% discount, that's still $25 that's tied up until the book ships or is cancelled. It's a good deal, but not if the book is cancelled and resolicited.
Update 6/8: I've written an update here.
