View Article  Lumineers
Everybody's on a quest for the perfect white teeth. What started out with brushing several times a day and making sure you hit every spot has now evolved to capping teeth, crowns, teeth whiteners, cosmetic dentistry and other products and techniques to whiten teeth.
Veneers is the newest product on the market to offer you whiter teeth. Lumineers is the latest porcelain dental veneers that can be put in place on your teeth which are as thin as contact lenses, offering you whiter teeth and a dazzling smile. What's better is that no grinding or shaving of your teeth is necessary to put these in place, nor do you have to have your preexisting crowns or other dental work replaced before putting them in.
A number of celebrites have used this program with great success, and has been featured on such programs as Queer Eye For The Straight Guy and The Swan. So if you're looking for a way to improve your smile without having to remove what you already have, you might want to give Veneers a look.

I'm not on Twitter, but I have this blog, and more than 140-some characters to express myself with. I've been following Brad from Podculture on his Twitter feed, and he's got his new HDTV. It's the same brand, but bigger size. He just said that he's hooked up his X Box 360 to it and playing Serenity on HD-DVD and it's great. It looks like a couple of more weeks until we can get ours'. Looking forward to it, but have to get things ready for it before then.

Winter is giving way to Spring. Well, you wouldn't know that here. The wife told me earlier tonight that the weather forecast says there's a chance of snow on Sunday. A check at the Weather Channel web site verifies that it is the case. But with the weather getting warm soon I'm sure most of you are wondering why in the world I would even bring up the good deals to be had with North Face winter gear? It is more than that, they offer other clothing along with luggage, backpacks, messenger bags and more. And they have a winter outerwear sale going on where you can make some good deals and get ready for next winter. And you can save even more with their free shipping on orders over $50.

I wrote that last post (the one below this one) in a fit of pique. Such a fit that I didn't realize that I had set up to excerpt the posting until I saw it a little while ago and fixed it. Sorry about that. It was somewhat related to another personal matter that I'm wading my way through right now that I don't feel that I am at liberty to divulge to you. But I was in the midst of dealing with it when I wrote online earlier, then we went out and dealt with, and thought a diversion was in order so we went to see Monsters Vs. Aliens in IMAX and 3D. It did take our mind off our troubles for a little while, and I wouldn't mind seeing it again. I don't know if I'd get it on Blu Ray like Joe Loves Crappy Movies says he will (no 3D being a stumbling block on my end) but I wouldn't mind seeing it again during it's run. Speaking of JLCM, he's got a book collection and Zombie Wash t-shirt out that I wish I had the money right now to get, especially the sketch version of the book.
Anyway, we only had time to do some grocery shopping, and we came home to phone messages that dragged up the whole mess again that we had to deal with. But right now it's a case where it's mainly hurry up and wait, and doing the best I can with what I have. Again, sorry about the last post cut-off.
View Article  Traffic Cams
Forget those posers staging their tea parties, there's real citizen frustration brewing. People are starting to fight back against traffic cameras. Forget their whole claim is to improve traffic safety, when you see the amount of money they're bringing in you know it's more than that. And as the article says, in some instances they make things worse with increased rear ending when people hit the brakes when they see the sign about those cameras. In my experience it's more effective to have those devices that point out the speed limit and what your actual speed is. Education works more effectively than cameras. And I've written here in the past about how people have abused traffic cameras to get back at people with the help of a car like the victims and some printing chicanery.
I admit I'm writing this more or less as a rant because I'm dealing with similar bureaucratic shennanigans which is designed more to boost the money coming in for the authorities and taking advantage of those in a prone position. You can't fight City Hall, and it's less trouble and expense to pay the ticket, so the ticket gets paid. And you can argue whether or not certain companies are monopolies until the cows come home, but I have yet to see any instance of Diamond Comics going above and beyond for anyone, or having a response that basically says "where else you gonna go to get your comics?" And it was bad enough that Ticketmaster tacked on "convenience charges" and excessive fees even when you're doing all the work, now they're saying tickets are sold out and direct you to one of their subsidiaries that can sell you the tickets you want, at an much higher fee, of course.
View Article  Junk Removal
Today's trash pickup day in my neighborhood. And every other Friday they pick up the recyclables. The recyclable thing is a new experience to me and it's hard to keep track of what is recyclable and what goes in the garbage, but I want to make sure I do the best I can for that. And even with the regular garbage there's certain rules as to what can be picked up and what can't. And there's sometimes when you have a lot more to haul away due to recent or unexpected developments in your home. And businesses have different needs as far as Hauling. Where do you go for Junk Removal?
If you're in the San Diego area there's a company that can help you with your Junk Hauling needs. They offer quick and helpful service leaving you not only relieved that the problem of getting all that junk off your property is taken care of, but how great the company doing the removing took care of it for you. They can help with whatever you need removed whether it be junk, dirt, demolition, or anything else you need to get rid of.
View Article  Tactical Gear
I'm not into tactical gear myself, but I can see the attraction. Whether it's weaponry and accessories such as Malice Clips or gear and clothes, this is the website to go to get whatever you want in tactical gear. They have a wide and excellent selection. If someone like me who wasn't into it could spend all that time looking at everything they have, imagine what someone who loves this stuff would do with the merchandise available. And they offer great customer service with live help to answer any questions you have and specials and offers on selected merchandise.
View Article  Tax Refund
I checked on the status of our tax refund. The bad news is I got a message saying they had to recalculate the amount of the refund due to errors on the return. The good news is that the amount will actually be around $150 more that originally thought. The bad news is that it won't be mailed out until a week later than my original ETA. It would've came in handy sooner.

If you play online and don't want to deal with the hassle of having to buy cards at the store to renew your membership, or worry about not getting a card in time to renew your membership, or have your credit card number on file in case there's a mixup, then here's a welcome alternative to that: world of warcraft battle chest. You buy it from them and you'll get a game key code e-mailed to you in minutes. You don't have to worry about interrupting your gaming again.

If you're a Christian you know how difficult it is to navigate online. You welcome the idea of a site you can visit, and the fact that you can chat with others who share your beliefs would be be better. So you'll be glad to know that there's a Christian Chat site that you can go to and meet others.
View Article  Comics Dis N Dat
I liked reading the online comics that ComicMix was offering. While I tout online and electronics as a lifeline to save magazines, I'll agree that it's an alternative and not a true replacement for actually reading a magazine or book. I was frustrated when ComicMix pared down their online comics offerings (digression: and columnists) and was wondering if we'd ever see their offerings in print. They had a limited edition run offered at a convention awhile back, but I didn't know if there'd be any further releases to the general populace. But now they've announced that print editions are coming.
And I wanted to point out this story of an autistic boy rescued in a fire by a resourceful fireman with a Spider-Man costume.
View Article  Used Fords
I had to run to the store to pick up a couple of things yesterday and I was looking at the used car lot and a Used Ford caught my eye. When my wife and I are out, she doesn't have a license to drive, but dreams of learning and being able to get her own car to go places. When she sees a car that she likes, she asks if it's American made, as both of our families come from the autoworker and union industries. Say what you will about Fords (some people even have stickers of unauthorized comic strip characters doing something even more unauthorized to their logo) but they got a lot of respect years ago when Michael Moore was going to different companies asking the head of the company to do a simple task (he asked a computer company to format a disk). The head of Ford at that time was the only one who responded to his challenge, and changed the oil in a Ford car. I know new cars are expensive, and used cars look like a better deal, so if you're in the market for a Used Ford Focus check out the great deals they've got.
View Article  Happy Anniversary?
Mark Evanier points out that today is the 20th anniversary of the Exxon Valdez oil spill. And like Mark, I thought that the clean up has been completed, the fines paid by Exxon, and restitution had been made to the injured parties. Greg Palast found out none of those things happened. If everybody gets half as worked up about this as they did about bonuses paid by government bailed out companies, maybe something a little closer to justice can be achieved.
View Article  Another Approach To Bonuses
Sometimes at the very least it's interesting to see a complaint from a different angle. Hearing about the AIG bonuses, like a lot of people I didn't want to feel that not only was I having to pay for their mistakes (do you think that if they were very successful they'd share any of their money with us?) but I was giving them bonuses? Can I at least ask that we don't go back to business as usual after all this? Is that too much to ask?
But seeing something from a different angle can make you go "hmm". Paul Harris has a good summary about the whole bailout money not going where we think it should situation. And this letter in the OpEd section of the New York Times caught my eye, and it's caused a furor across the internet. I'm not sure how I ultimately feel, but if what happened in Mr. DeSantis' letter is true, that doesn't sound right.
View Article  Electronics Shopping
It's an exciting time for electronics and gadgets. It seems like Blu Ray is starting to take off as a format. And there's all the other merchandise like digital cameras, mp3 players, etc. Either there's brand new items or the price is coming down. The other day my wife pointed to an ad where the price for the mp3 players we got last year were about half the price we paid for them. And like computers they're coming out with more and more storage capacity.
So with all that going on, how are you going to get the latest gadgets coming out and not having to pay too much for them? One way is to see the deals you can find at SHOP.COM. Whether you're interested in mp3 players (if you're like me, your old one is full and you need more space) or you want to check out the Electronics Clearance Sale, there are plenty of deals to be had.
And they're more than just trying to sell all they can to you. They know the importance of you making the best decision to get the gadget that's right for you. That's why they have helpful buying guides so that not only do you get the right item, but you can rely on them for your electronics needs. They know it's more than just offering the lowest price. They want to continue doing business with you. It's in their motto: Shop Smart, Save Big ™
View Article  DVD Problems
I hadn't seen the movie Let The Right One In or planned to get it on DVD, but I had read yesterday that the DVD release has simplified subtitles as compared to the film as shown in theatres. Apparently Magnet Films didn't want to pay for the rights to the subtitles for the DVD and went with another company. Now they're announcing that they'll release a DVD with the original subtitles, but won't exchange the original DVD sold. Which has caused some in the comments section to suggest other *ahem* less legitimate ways to get a replacement copy over paying twice. And another commenter mentioned that fans who bought the first 4 seasons of The Mary Tyler Moore Show on DVD aren't happy with them releasing the last 3 seasons only as part of a "complete series" package that I recall was done with Fraggle Rock as well. I would say it's better than not getting the rest of the seasons of Hill Street Blues and Taxi, but it isn't really that much better.
View Article  Online Coupon Site
Anybody who's been online for any amount of time can tell you that you can usually get something cheaper online and usually have a go-to site for certain items. And you can be amazed at the prices offered online. But when you go to check out, you see a space to put in a coupon or discount code and you don't have one. I don't know about you, but when I see that space I assume that there's a code out there to put in and save money. I don't like the idea of spending extra money if I can help it, so I've went to the search engines and tried to search for coupon codes and usually either come up empty or find a code that's expired. But like certain items online you need a go-to site for online coupons. That's why you should check out this site for Shopping Coupons and more important bookmark it for future reference. If you don't see a good deal to jump on now you can save the site for later if you're shopping online and see that space to enter a discount code. You won't have to search in vain, you have a site you can go to and find a code you can put in and save even more money.
View Article  Vet Follow Up
Things didn't go as well at the vet's. Of course, JoJo acted up so they didn't get everything done today so I have to bring him back in 3 weeks to finish up, but I have to bring them both back in at that time anyway because of a follow up booster for a new type of shot they're giving cats now. And it looks like the flea collars aren't cutting it and I have to use monthly applications of Advantage for them. They were telling me that they didn't have 4 packs of treatments for sale even though their sign said they did and I had to pay $17.95 for each treatment for a month. The only other option they offered was $70-80 for 6 treatments. And each cat is over and under the 9 pound cutoff so I have to buy 2 different treatments, one for each cat. I did a search at 1800petmeds.com and they've got 4 packs on sale now for $44.99 for under 9 pounds, $45.99 for over 9 pounds. I looked over the notes and they say they recommend daily teeth cleanings and weekly ear washings. A further check at 1800petmeds has an oral hygiene kit for $8.99 and an OtiFoam ear cleanser for $9.99. With their free shipping which can be upgraded to $2.99 for Priority Mail and $5 off $100 or more purchase right now that'll probably be the way I go to get the stuff I need. I did some tweaking of the budget and we can swing that, and the estimated fees for their follow up visit in 3 weeks.

You put a lot of trust and faith in your health care, especially as you get older. And as you get older more things start to go wrong and you want someone to make them right so you can get back to normal. Hopefully it'll be awhile before you start to settle on your treatment, in that you just want it not to hurt as much, and you're achieving the back to normal goal. But what happens if something goes wrong with your hip or knee joint replacement surgery?
If it's the product that's replaced such as issues on zimmer durom cup then what you need is a durom lawyerthat's knowledgeable and experienced to help you get what you deserve for your pain and suffering in a durom lawsuit. View Article  Borders Going Under?
To no one's surprise, speculation is mounting that Borders may be closing soon. The only one I go to is because it's close to a theatre chain I like to frequent, and they usually send a coupon that leads me to go in and check out what they've got. Most of the time I leave empty handed. Barnes & Noble has a better selection, and I actually get a discount from their member card.

View Article  Wednesday Morning
I'm up a little early because I had to take my 2 cats in for their annual checkup and shots. For some reason I have to take them in first thing in the morning between 7 and 7:30. Not only did I hear the babies cry and try to comfort them on a 20 mile drive, mama girl had to go in the bathroom in her carrier like she does every year, so I had something to clean it up. Nothing to counter the smell I ended up with until I got home. After dropping off the cats, I decided to treat myself with an Indianapolis Star, New York Times and a coffee to enjoy at home. I went to Target when they opened and found a Wonder Woman figure from the Infinite Heroes line and an Andy Kaufman wrestling figure. Instead of going back to bed I stayed up and washing the sheets, comforter and blanket which'll be good to have when I go to bed tonight.
