I remember reading in the Marvel Bullpen Bulletins back in the 70s the announcement that there was a Fantastic Four radio show. They even had a list of stations broadcasting it. I listened to the station but not a word about it. And I'd hear bits of news here and there over the years, but nothing that would allow me to listen to it. Until I found this link that had 10 of the 13 episodes archived. I listened to the first one...and there's a reason why there's nary a peep about this show. It isn't particularly good radio. It sounded like a literal adaptation of Fantastic Four #1 with all the narration and dialogue, but no real indication for anyone without that frame of reference to know what was going on. I would imagine there was some interested in those listening to FM radio back then, but that was due to possible recreational activities that were done back then. Not even Stan Lee as the narrator or a then-unknown Bill Murray as the Human Torch redeems this. The me of the 70s probably would've loved it, as I hadn't heard what Stan Lee sounded back at that time, but now...it's just another mystery solved.

Mike Norton points out that Barack Obama is going to be on the O'Really Factor on Faux Noise tonight and pondering how best to watch it. I don't know if I can bring myself to. If you think it's the usual partisan politics click on the link and watch the video from The Daily Show the other night that exposes how the Repugnicans say one thing, then change their tune when the shoe's on the other foot.
And here's a little reality check for your Sarah Palin speech last night.

I can't believe I almost forgot to tell you about this again. I'm one of the participants of this week's Five For Friday. This week's topic: "Name Five Of Your Favorite Comics Rich People." The feature is to return in three weeks, but there's plenty to occupy my time.

Not to trivialize the last two posts I've made, but to paraphrase one of Lewis Grizzard's book titles "..And I Don't Feel So Good Myself". I've had to deal with some personal matters, including a snafu that looked to threaten my contributing to the household. It was something I feared for months, causing me to check each day to make sure didn't happen that I thought did. Fortunately, upon further investigation others had the same problem. Hopefully it'll be straightened out tomorrow and this'll be just a bad memory. My apologies for not elaborating further, but I don't wish to attract the attention that could result in what I thought happened.

As I've read and I'm sure you've read or heard that the so-called "rule of three" has been debunked. But not that ol' grim reaper isn't trying. In addition to my last entry, then came the news yesterday that Jerry Reed passed away. And then I read this afternoon that animator Bill Melendez has died. Mark Evanier remarked he was 91 and had been in ill health for years, but this is sad nonetheless.

Movie trailer voiceover artist Don LaFontaine has passed away at 68. In case you don't recognize his voice, here's the Geico commercial he did:

Are you threatened by zombie debt? Are you wondering what it is? This article should explain it, and how to fight it. Basically, the credit collection agencies want to make as much as they can, and paying them anything may reawaken something that shouldn't have been.

Every parent out there is concerned about their childrens' safety. While some realize they can't hover over their kids and do everything for them, they want to make sure they're safe. In my neck of the woods one way they can do that is to Locate Indiana Sex Offenders to find out where they are.

First off, for those who haven't seen or read Obama's acceptance speech, (as I hoped to have the other night) here it is:
I hope the length won't put you off. At least watch a few minutes. If you're not interested after that, I don't think there's anything I could say to persuade you otherwise. And now here's sports with Sarah Heath: Okay, it's 20 year old sports, but hey, we've got vice-presidential candidate Sarah Palin on our news team. And now for a word:
