Watchmen TV Party

Gordon Dymowski's new TV Party column is up. In it he talks about the Watchmen movie, the track record of previous Alan Moore adaptations, and ends with the quote from James McCain that movies ruined his books. "Mr. Cain's response was to point to his bookshelf and say, 'They haven't been ruined - they're all right here'." But Neil Gaiman points out that a film based on his work will end up on TV on a rainy Sunday afternoon, so care must be taken not to be so cavalier. I'm just saying is all. After all, more people remember the movie or TV version than the actual comic. Does the name Adam West mean anything to you? And Dymowski further elaborates on his blog talking about the literal translations being done for Watchmen, not realizing film is a different animal.
