One of the things I was big on back when I was more active in the anime club was to try to get more anime movies to play in local theatres. Back then, they only played the art theatres and hardly came to our area if they came at all. I even made a road trip once up to Chicago to see Princess Mononoke, and that was directed by the major director Hayao Miyazaki and released by Disney. But now that anime has become more mainstream, it is showing up more and more in the theatres.

But with DeathNote, based on the manga and anime about a mysterious notebook that if you write someone's name in the book they die, it's only playing two nights only May 20th and 21st. Even the wife heard about this film at work. So even with such a limited window it is stirring up interest.
