Aerocare air ambulance service offers medical transportation around the world. It is designed for transportation over 200 miles where sitting upright isn't practical. It is mainly for people on vacation needing transport home, or someone needing transport to a medical care facility that offers care their local facility cannot provide. It is covered by most policies and they will be glad to work with your insurance provider by calling ahead of time for pre-authorization and submit the proper paperwork to them. Not only that, but they offer bedside to bedside service where the patient is watched by a medical crew during transport to ensure care.

Labor Day and everybody is taking it easy around the internets. Unfortunately, there's no Labor Day in Britain and nobody told Auntie Beeb about taking it easy. They've announced news about the future series of Doctor Who
Good news: David Tennant will be the Doctor, through at least season five. Bad news: season five will be transmitted in 2010. We're looking at series four in 2008 and three specials in 2009.

ComicMix brings a couple of columns about Labor Day: Martha Thomases about the holiday and New York.
And Mike Gold commemorates Labor Day with a column about the struggles of comics creators trying to get benefits: "Creators who work in this medium are, by and large, freelancers. They are, by and large, responsible for their own health care and retirement. This means that most comics people have no health care or retirement. I know people on the Right consider this to be their fault, the result of the fact that they’re not as smart as people on the Right. These are fools who have never had to face the prospect of going without food or lodging. It’s amazing how fast your priorities change when you’ve got nothing on the table and in a few weeks no place to put that table."

Poker has become popular lately, especially the Texas Hold 'Em variety. But the other types of poker have caught on as well. And if you can't find the type of game you want going on around your area, you can go online and find it. With the live chat, etc. it's almost like really being there.
But there's some people who aren't totally familiar with the ins and outs of a particular poker game. Sure, you can just jump in and "sink or swim", but instead of sinking, you could lose a lot of money. A high price to pay for the college of hard knocks. One possible solution is Poker Pro Labs: Poker Tools for online poker players. Use the player tracking, action monitoring, chance of winning, pot odds and other great features to take advantage of your opponents. Best of all you can have this information overlayed right on your poker table. Poker Pro 2007 captures data for you in real-time so no input is required. Supports Hold’em Limit, No Limit and (SNG and MTT) Tournament play. Best of all, you can try it for free. Brought to you by your friends at www.pokerprolabs.com.

Not much going on here. Having to deal with the old "Monday holiday pushing everything back a day" this week. It could be worse, it could be 100+ degrees with no power. The only thing I'd hate worse than today would be today with no power.

Many businesses nowadays have an online prescence. If you're not necessarily selling anything, you wish to present information about yourself to the community at large. Where before that was time consuming telephone calls or tours, or resource wasters such as pamphlets and brochures, can all easily be done with a website. And it's truly a win-win situation. People can get the information they need, and your resources aren't tied up. But the question remains: whom will you trust to provide this service? Momentum offers a Toronto web hosting colocation and other services for businesses. Whether it's a one-time project or long-term assistance, they can take care of it. Sunday, September 2

After mentioning it in a post earlier today, we went out and sat on the back porch for a little bit. It was a good thing because there weren't any clouds and we got to see the most stars we've ever saw. Kathy said it was like the planetarium. It was a little chilly, and it's supposed to get warmer later in the week, but it was an opportunity for both of us to sit out there. It was good to do that. Hopefully we'll have more chances before it gets too cold.

In the construction and industrial industries "Safety First" is emphasized. If you talk to anyone in either of these industries they're more than likely to have a story about something that happened when that law was disregarded or someone was careless. All In Safety is a site that offers a full line of safety, construction, and industrial supplies. Things such as hard hats, caution tape, blue poly tarps, and more. And since they're a major supplier that ships nationwide, they can offer the widest selection at the lowest prices. And if you order before 3pm, they'll ship it out the same day. Don't save money by cutting corner, you'll save more if you shop with All In Safety.

From Ken Levine: Contractually obligated bad writing. Maybe he should've taken a page from when Mark Evanier had a similar assignment and, well, taken a page from it.
Colleen Doran got to see the Aurigid meteor shower from her home. *Sigh* I need to sit out on my porch more before it gets colder. Happy 16th Ariel David!

You buy a new vehicle. It doesn't matter if it's a car, truck, RV, or motorcycle. You've been having problems with it. You've taken it into the shop over and over, and it still isn't fixed. It's out of commission, and you have to go through the hassle of making other arrangements while you're waiting. You've given the dealership every chance to fix the problem, but you're still in the same situation, and they say they're not going to do anything else, they've done all they can. What can you do? Well, if you're in Ohio, the automobile lemon law can help you with the assistance of Burdge Law Office. They have a web site will all sorts of information, and you might be eligible for free case review. Saturday, September 1

Labor Day weekend used to mean one thing: the TV Guide Fall Preview issue was just around the corner. Newsstand distribution in my neck of the woods was Mondays and Wednesdays. With Monday being Labor Day, that meant waiting until Wednesday. But there were some outlets that got magazines on Tuesdays, and if you look hard enough and were lucky...
Nowadays with TV Guide's mutation, the Fall Preview isn't as much anymore. But the question still remains when the new shows debut, as well as the returning ones. Fortunately, the internet, one of the things that ultimately doomed the guide, will save us here. Ain't It Cool News has a list of show debuts, by date and alphabetical order.

I've only been to Utah once in my life, and it was passing through to Anime Con '91. But as anyone who has seen the pictures told you it's very beautiful country. And it'd be a nice peaceful place to stay for a winter vacation. Lespri Resort Property Management offers condo rentals in such places in Utah as Deer Valley and Park City vacation rentals. More than likely they're booked solid for Sundance, but any other time it's sure to be nice and peaceful. And unless you're in "the biz" isn't that what you're after to begin with?

Ain't nothing going on around here. Kathy's off for her weekend now, I'm in the middle of doing laundry, and she's getting some much needed rest. There's really no plans for this weekend (we really don't do Labor Day celebrations around here) and next week that pushes everything back a day due to the holiday, including new comics day. I've got a backlog of books to go through, but don't care for any disruption in the routine.
The forecast calls for at least a couple of days next week getting up in the 90s. I don't like the hot weather, but I'm not ready for summer to end yet.

With school back in session and summer winding down, Online Discount Mart is having a sale to get clear out their summer items, such as Garden Lighting. With the weather still very warm here, I imagine it's the same where you're at, and can get some last-minute projects in. But if you're the type to look ahead, they also have fall and halloween items available as well. |
