I just realized that I haven't said anything about the film, although it's breaking such records that mah two cents aren't going to be a hill of...well, anything to them. But they ain't writing this blog, so...
I think the big mistake I made was to wile away the time before the movie started by watching Spider-man 2 on my PSP before the film started. Although they did a good job of covering so much ground, seeing the previous film did spoil me, as there weren't as many big tent-pole moments in this one as it's predecessor. Another thing was when Peter had the black suit he'd indicate his darker personality was by having his hair fall down to his face. In both our cases, it brought to mind another Peter P (for Petrelli).
Am I going to see it again? Yeah, but I'm in no hurry, which another online critic said was indicative of this film's shortcomings. Am I going to get it on DVD? I'd say yes.
The only thing is, this film with our crowd the question isn't "are you going to see it?" but "have you seen it?" like it was an inevitability.
Oh, I am reading the novelization, mainly because I'm such a big Peter David fan. So far, the biggest Easter egg is having George Perez' and his creation Sachs and Violens involved in the photography shoot with Gwen Stacy.
