One third of the Match Game holy trinity Charles Nelson Reilly has passed on. Kathy and I both enjoyed coming home from school (independently, of course. We lived 5 miles apart back then) to watch Match Game at 3:30 and Tattletales at 4. Kathy hopes that GSN will run a marathon in tribute.
Thanks to Mike Sterling for the heads up.

Re: Charles Nelson Reilly RIP
Sorry to see this. Admittedly, I remember him almost entirely from Ghost & Mrs. Muir and Match Game, but that was enough.
Re: Charles Nelson Reilly RIP
I'm with Mike on this, but am curious who rounds out your 'holy trinity'. My guess would be Richard Dawson and (digging deep here) Brett Somers. Just thinking about Match Game conjures images of Gene Rayburn. ::shiver::

Yes, Tammy, Richard and Brett are the other two thirds of the Trinity.

I'd have guessed Charless, Brett and Fannie Flagg.

Fannie wasn't in most every episode, or at least wasn't on every week.
Richard was on until Family Feud became more popular, including one infamous episode when he refused to smile on camera. Brett was on because the producers wanted Jack Klugman, and hiring his wife Brett was seen as a way to "grease the wheels". When she turned out to be popular in her own right, they decided to keep her. Re: Charles Nelson Reilly RIP
Wow, this is sad to hear. I really loved watching The Match Game and Charles in particular. He was such a witty guy. I also remember him in the Broadway production of Hello Dolly! with Carol Channing. He was far more talented than amny people gave him credit for; as his obituary will attest to.
