One of the last silver trailer diners in the country will close Saturday, unless a buyer is found. Kathy and I ate there when we went to check out the new movie theatre/shopping complex nearby called Metropolis and saw Chicken Little in 3D. The food was very good and for both of us it was more memorable than the movie. We prefer to sample local flavor when we go out to eat especially out of town. If it weren't so far away, we would've went more often.

Remember a while back when I told you about two scientists who announced they had developed an embryo-free way to produce genetically matched stem cells? Mark Evanier's written about how Charles Krautammer was proclaiming victory for his and W's side. And then one of scientists James A. Thomson rebutted his piece, saying Krauthammer didn't know what he was talking about, either scientifically or politically. And Tony Isabella named both Thomson and Alan Leshner the Best People of the Day today.

Looks like Congress is trying to get the credit card companies to clean up their act on charges. I guess the politicians are starting to wake up to the fact that people are saying enough is enough. You can have all the contributions you want, all the back room deals, etc. But it comes down to the people going to the polls and making the selection.

I'm putting this up to clear the air and help you understand, then I'm going to try to shut up about it. This article explains the trouble I've been going through lately. Hopefully thing's will work out soon as it states. As I said, I'll try to shut up, but what if you went to work one day and was told there was no work for you because a big company that didn't like your kind made you worthless? It's hard enough scrambiling around for work, but when there's none to be found it's even worse.

I wish that things have gotten better, but alas, they haven't. Still not getting anything to help pay the bills. The snows that everyone else got was just rain that what little remain froze up making it fun to drive. The last Heroes before the strike is over is on tonight. Other shows are starting to dry up. There isn't that much coming out on Wednesday to justify a trip to the comics shop. I haven't felt like putting up the Christmas tree this weekend, don't know when I will. I thought taking a break would help and catch up on some reading, it hasn't.

I had some things that kept today from being a total crap-fest:
1) Torchwood finale on BBC America. It was a natural evolution of how the story and characters were going all season. And it even had the characters going to the wall against Jack. Let's see Star Trek do that. 2) Kathy was happy that she is smarter than a 5th grader and some celebrities: 3) And Jim Guida paid her a compliment in this thread. As the host of Are You Smarter Than A 5th Grader? once said about spouses "If she ain't happy, you ain't happy. And if she ain't happy long enough, you ain't happy with half your stuff." But it does me good to see Kathy happy. 4) I just took an opportunity that paid $5. Not much I know, but $5 more than what I had before. 5) We had chicken quesadillas and potato skins for supper that we made from scratch. Well, we tried chicken already cooked from Oscar Meyer this time out, but this is one of our favorite meals that fill us up good.

There are some people out there who elect to do their holiday shopping online. And there's some that for one reason or another actually go to the stores to do their shopping. The cool thing about WebbyPlanet is that they offer not only coupon codes for online sites and brick and mortar stores as well. Check out what all they have and save some money today.

Sorry about the decline in posts, but the decline in sponsored posts have affected me. Apparently Google has decided to slap down anyone who blogs for money, causing my page rank to go from 4 to 2 to 0 in less than a month. PayPerPost's promised successor Real Rank isn't doing anything for me to help make things better. And with new bloggers joining all the time with the higher page rank it doesn't look like PPP is in a big hurry to do anything to help us older bloggers? Are they like other industries where they see workers as just another resource to be thrown away once they've served their purpose for them? I hope not, as eventually either word will get out, or the blogger well will run dry and PPP will realize too late to be able to do anything about it. I know there's some people who may not like it, but it was nice to make some money where I could be home when Kathy comes home and take care of her and the house. I figured between that and my constant looking for bargains on our expenses helped keep my end a'going. I'm not going to question my writing ability, and I don't think you will either as you've read this far. Maybe I can look into other areas to ply my writing craft, but print is drying up and the paying opportunities for online stuff is few and far between. Maybe I can sell some stuff on eBay. I don't know.
