There's a lot of people out there who are looking to send something to the soldiers this holiday season. Kathy said they were doing something at her church where they were going to send different things and she volunteered to write a letter.
But many people are sending it out to "any soldier" or "a recovering American soldier". This will prevent what you're sending from going through. While I was researching that post that mentioned Madalyn Murray O'Hair on Monday (the spelling FYI), I came across this urban legends page that addresses the issue. Basically, due to September 11th the Post Office and Walter Reed Hospital won't accept generically addressed mail. I passed this along in a thread on Tony Isabella's site. A gentleman by the name of Jim Bosomworth suggested contacting a recruiter for names of people or arrange to ship anything to hospitals serving soldiers.
