And here's part 3:
I thought it was interesting, with a different take on the characters, and wouldn't mind watching it on TV.

I had read about this originally last April 1, and wondered like a lot of people if it was an April Fools Day joke. Apparently not. Until Cartoon Network translates and shows it, here's part 1 of the premiere episode of Powerpuff Girls Z Update: It is subtitled, but the subtitles for the opening/closing themes are blurry:

All right, all right, Mark, you talked me into it:
Alas, I'm too poor to buy or rent a gorilla suit, but I'll be there in spirit. And God bless Bob Burns: Monday, January 29

...or is it too mean to quit and too dumb to die?
This is the 800th post to my blog. I'm not breaking any records, but I'm hanging in there.

TV Squad brought this to my attention:
And, as TV Squad pointed out, this isn't a clip from 1999, but last week. Now all I need is another "POW! ZAP! Comics Are Hot? Holy Collectible, Batman!" article and my day is complete.

After answering the "Are You A Movie Buff?", I've seen that Mike Norton followed with a listing of movies seen from the American Film Institute's 100 Greatest Movies list, as did Mark Gibson. And here's mine, with a couple of additional notations:

Yesterday we decided to do something about our cabin fever by seeing Miss Potter, a movie starring Renee Zellweger and Ewan McGregor about the life of Beatrix Potter, the author/illustrator of the Peter Rabbit books. In addition to sounding like an interesting film, I wanted Kathy to check out the local Landmark Theatre, an indy theatre that offers more than the usual theatre, with a lounge, additional concession faire, and a better theatre design. Given that she doesn't care for movies with bad language, and Landmark's usual fare, this was a rare chance for her to check it out. But for some reason, the theatre only had it for one showing last night. It sounds like a preview screening, except for the fact that the film is already in release, and that is usually the only time a theatre does a "one time only" showing. Unfortunately, by the time we got down there, they only had seating in the front two rows. Kathy doesn't like to sit in the "Kurt" section (named for our friend Kurt Metz, that talked a group of us going to see Wing Commander to sit in the front row, as that was his favorite section of a theatre) Since the evening was mainly for her benefit, I decided to see what she wanted to do and entertain her as best I could. She got to check out the place, and I got my Film magazine they give to members. She wanted to find someplace to eat that we would see and say "we should try that sometime" and end up not doing. She selected Panera Bread where we tried out their new chicken sandwich, she also had broccoli cheese soup in a bread bowl and I also tried out their Asian chicken salad. Then we went home to relax the rest of the night.
I had a tough time trying to get to sleep, and I slept but didn't rest. When Kathy came home from church, she was cold and tired, and came to bed, too. We slept until 3:00 and got up. She had some leftover sub from yesterday's lunch, but I'm not hungry. Hopefully I will be, as we planned to fix meatloaf for supper tonight, and that's her pride and joy in food preparation. Note: In preparing this post, I saw that the Indianapolis Landmark Theatre plans to start regular showings of Miss Potter this Friday. We might go see it there, or wait for video. |
