Since the last post was the closest I've talked about comics for awhile, and some have classified this blog as a comics blog on their links...
Mike Sterling talked about how this thread rules. I agree, and I'm going one better, I'm going to answer these questions:
"Just thought of a few situations that I don't know if they are possible or not and thought I'd ask about it. And I'm classifying this as character vs. situation OR power vs. power
1. Can Venom bond with Collosus when he's metal? Yes, he is organic metal.
2. Can Classic Black Tom Cassidy block out Black Canary's scream? (The Cassidy that was immune to Banshee) No. I believe the blocking is more due to relation than actual power. BC's scream is different enough to be effective against him.
3. Can Gambit, with enough power, charge up air particles? I think more like enough will power and concentration, then it would be possible.
4. What would happen if Rogue touched Martian Manhunter? She would absorb his powers, duh. Yeah, and would assume the same physical features until she absorbed enough to change back to her normal form.
5. Could Hulk, if he got mad enough, break through a [Green Lantern]'s shield? Yes. This would be a case of anger vs. willpower, and as "the angrier Hulk gets, the stronger Hulk gets", eventually it would be greater than a GL's shield.*
6. If Gambit charges up a metal object, could Magneto stop it from exploding? No, but he could control the metal parts of the explosion to minimize it.
7. Could Kitty phase through Invisible Woman's shield? Yes, the only side effect to her phasing is short-circuiting electronics.*
8. Could Kitty phase through a GL's shield? Ibid.*
9. What would happen if Banner had his bones bonded with metal? Would he not be able to grow if he became the Hulk? As I subscribe to the Bill Mantlo/Peter David theorem that Hulk is a physical manisfestation of Banner's years of oppressed emotions, in this instance I believe that he would change into the Hulk, just manifest differently, much like the "jiffy-pop" head of the Leader vs. the classic asparagus head version.
10. I once heard the Nightcrawler teleported by transferring to a different dimension. If this is true, could he stay there? With willpower, concentration, and practice, I believe it is possible.
11. Is Juggernaught unstoppable if he's not moving?" If he's not moving, he's stopped, isn't he? Now, if he decides to start moving again...

*I think the ultimate answer to these questions are the classic "whatever who is writing it wants to happen". For instance, the fanboy in the writer may decree that Hulk could break through a GL's shield, that there is no way on their watch that they could smash through Hal Jordan's shield. I'm not that big a Hal Jordan fan, and I thought that myself.
Also, in the interests of the story the writer may feel that x must happen. If his/her editor agrees, or if that editor can be convinced of the writer's reasoning, then that will happen and a fact will be established.
So let the debating begin. Do you agree or disagree? (Here's one answer: Highlander will disagree with everything I've said ^_^)
