In the comments section it was brought up that some have accused Denis Leary of stealing paying homage to Hicks' act. On comment recalls this joke that made the rounds about the topic:

First, Suzanne Pleshette is being treated for lung cancer. Like many people, my first thought was "what're the odds?" Fortunately, she is doing well. But the reason I bring this to your attention is at the end of the article it mentions she's been married to Tom Poston since 2001.
Second, we're getting the second season of Doctor Who sooner than expected. Try next month. September 29th, to be precise. And yes, we're getting The Christmas Invasion as one of the first episodes.
