I've always like getting newspapers to read on vacation. The relatives thought it was cute that I'd do that, and thought I was more studious than I was. The truth was, I was more interested in the comics sections. Back then, it seemed like you'd get more variety.
Nowadays, it seems like the usual suspects are in each comic section, with very few exceptions. Also, I have matured to the point where I do read the papers I get, to 1) get a feel for the town they're representing, and 2) to see how they may cover a particular story. As you've noted before, the same story sometimes gets a different spin in each paper.
