View Article  Voting and Memes
Harlan Ellison once said that everyone isn't entitled to their opinion, they are entitled to their informed opinion. I wish to direct you to this posting from Gordon at Blog This, Pal, even though it points out my misguided and erroneous intent to be informed and to check that. My last entry about the election included a box from DontVote.org that says it is to test whether you should vote, but as Gordon correctly assessed, it is more an identification of different faces in the news, with no real bearing on the candidates and issues facing us. I regret the error and apologize for spreading this as well.

From the AFL-CIO:
If you have witnessed:

  • Harassment of any kind at the polls
  • Photographing or videotaping voters as they enter or exit
  • Any attempts to intimidate voters
  • Challenging voters' ballots for any reason
  • Interference with voters
  • Extremely long lines
  • Turning away registered voters because they have recently moved
  • Refusing to allow illiterate voters or voters with disabilities to be assisted by a person of their choice
  • Threats to report voters to immigration officials
  • Refusing to provide ballots in Spanish or other languages for non-English speaking voters
  • Not enough ballots
  • Delayed opening of polls

Like Mark I scored 96%, so I'm good to go.
Also, you might want to go here to brush up on where the candidates stand (also courtesy of Tammy)
Please spread the word on this, and vote Tuesday.

Jaime J. Weinman writes about studios stopping season sets of TV shows on DVD before completing them, with Hill Street Blues the latest addition to the list. They didn't even get to when I started watching the show, when Joe Fields in college talked me into letting him watch it in college, and ended up being a group every Thursday night.

I know Halloween's over, but I got just one word about this upcoming crossover: Groovy!
