This is Tony Collett's weblog dedicated to my thoughts on the happenings in the world, comic books, anime, science fiction, DVDs, and anything else I encounter. I'm forty-something, male, and married (sorry, ladies)

View Article  Spider-Man 3 Villains Revealed?
According to MTV.com, Kirsten Dunst has revealed Thomas Hayden Church will be playing the Sandman and Topher Grace will be playing Venom in Spider-Man 3. With "no comment" from the Marvel camp, one wonders if it is a (possibly planned?) leak.

Saw Serenity last night. Loved it. Was way better than other science fiction movies *Koff*Prequels*Koff*. Joe Bob says check it out, even if you haven't seen Firefly. I would tell you to either get the DVDs or watch it Fridays at 7 on Sci-Fi Channel, but you'll want to do that anyway after seeing it. You don't need to in order to enjoy the movie, but it enhances it if you have. In fact, a line of dialogue of a sexual nature that would ordinarily offend my Chrisitian wife produced a reaction of "I can't believe she said that" because of the familiarity with the characters. BTW, the headline was inspired by her slight change of the nickname for the movie.

Mark Evanier pointed out this article about a new movie by Albert Brooks inspired by 9/11 that pokes fun of celebrity insecurity and government inefficiency was passed up by Sony that thought it would offend Muslims and wouldn't be good for business. This from a company that released Deuce Bigalow: European Gigolo. Fortunately, Warner Independent will be releasing it.

I just got an e-mail that I won a pass for two to Serenity tomorrow night from the local alternative paper Nuvo. Hoody Hoo! Dunno if Steve H will be at the office when I come pick up the tickets.

Well, kids, the 100,000+ have left town and all that's left is the clean up.
Fortunately, the beef jerky ladies were nowhere around. Got to eat some roasted corn on the cob and ribeye sandwich and the wife got her Italian sausage sandwich and fish and chips. Also, from the vendors she got a sweeper "as seen on TV" to pick up and a tie-dye shirt.
Sorry there aren't more details, but trust me, this is details enough given the weekend in question.
