This is Tony Collett's weblog dedicated to my thoughts on the happenings in the world, comic books, anime, science fiction, DVDs, and anything else I encounter.
I'm forty-something, male, and married (sorry, ladies)

And, on a lighter note, pick one from column A and one from column B to create your own Late-Night Cable Movie Plot Generator.

Just a quick note, didn't hear anything from the family-owned business, got a letter from the other one saying that they found other candidates that better match what they're looking for. And the state is still reviewing whether they're going to pay me unemployment. Hopefully they'll decide while I still have money...and a stomach.

I know Harry Knowles is a big fan of the original King Kong. He's got the original movie poster and his background wallpaper on his site has Kong getting ready to flip the people off the log to the infamous giant spider. So I thought everyone would be telling him about both versions coming out on DVD. But guess who got the credit for breaking the news on his site? Yep, I'm "Terror"!

Ain't It Cool News pointed out a good interview with Joss Whedon at In Focus' web site.
Favorite quote: "So you’re still reading comic books at age 41? Yes, at age 41 I go to a comic-book shop every Wednesday."

Had a couple of interviews, did great in both. Hit all the right notes, both seemed impressed with me. One said it'd be the first of next week before I'd hear back if interested for another interview, and it's for a call center tentatively scheduled to open August 22nd. The other said they had 4 more interviews, hoped to make a decision on Friday. Although I'd like the extra time off, the other is a family-owned business that said they wished to treat their employees as family. Here's hoping. Both offer benefits as good or a little better than the last job.
I'll tell you, as far as worries go, having to get back in the grind so soon is a lot better than what if I can't get a job and run out of money. |
