Scott Kurtz mentioned some cartoonists striking out on their own on his PvP website. It's called Blank Label Comics and worth checking out. A couple of new favorites of mine: Shortpacked! about toy fandom, and Wapsi Square about smart and sexy twenty-somethings.
Well, that's the best description I can come up with. Go check it out already!
Here's one in response to the holy duo of trilogies, that'll only help the Highlander's case that I'm Star Wars obsessed, but I thought it was funny.

Yes, I actually caught it in the new issue of Giant magazine. I raved about this magazine awhile back, calling it the Maxim you can read at work and not get into trouble for. They had an article listing the cool things about Star Wars, along with the other cornucopia of things they cover. Joe Bob says check it out!
