This is Tony Collett's weblog dedicated to my thoughts on the happenings in the world, comic books, anime, science fiction, DVDs, and anything else I encounter. I'm forty-something, male, and married (sorry, ladies)

Got a special offer from Best Buy, being a Reward Zone member, where I could place a pre-order on the upcoming Sony PSP Playstation portable. Despite forgetting my password for Best Buy (different than Reward Zone password) I got it and was able to put in an order. Selected getting it overnighted, as I will be off work the day after release (March 25th)
However, the order gives an ETA for delivery of March 14-15th. I know some of the games are being released that day. Wouldn't it be cool if I got it then by mistake? Stay tuned...

Neal Adams is spearheading an art auction and a tribute book is planned to benefit William Messner-Loebs. Hurrah!
View Article  Fatal Attraction and Ultimate Film Fanatic
Vince Keenan writes about how Fatal Attraction has lost it's impact over time, and weighs in on the finale of Ultimate Film Fanatic with much of the same things I thought: that the game seemed to change focus at the end.

Years ago, one of the more memorable stories in the Strip AIDS USA anthology was a Journey story about a plague striking the area, some of the afflicted led out into the woods to die, and Wolverine McAllister and some of his fellow mountaineers electing to stay and offer aid and comfort. McAllister told the person wondering why that when wolves are sick and weak, the other members of the pack hunt food, offer help, and even howl over them when they die. He figured he could at least do the same.
The writer/artist of that story, William Messner-Loebs, is in some dire straights himself. Although he has done some excellent work for DC, he is currently without work or a home. His wife Nadine is very sick. Clifford Meth has written an impassioned, well-reasoned call to assistance. He suggests buying one less comic a month and send money to his PayPal account (his e-mail address: bloebs@yahoo.com)
Or you can order The Three Tenors: Off Key and get something great in return.
The least we do is be as honorable as wolves.

I wasn't able to log in here yesterday to say anything, watched the first hour and 45 minutes of the Oscars before I had to go to bed. Maybe I should get the next day off next year as a religious holiday. As Lewis Black said about the Superbowl, everyone should have a ritual, and it is on a Sunday...
I got most of the major categories except Best Director. I saw The Aviator and Million Dollar Baby the same day, and thought Scorsese did the better job. And I figured he was the one to get the Oscar bone, to make up for not getting it before.
Harry Knowles weighs in on 5 Things For Oscar To Remember Next Year For The Show. Brings up some good points. Also interesting was what Vince Keenan, and Gary Sassaman's transcipt of his live blogging.
