Started by Fred Hembeck (see February 10th), continued by Alan David Doane, and in response to the gauntlet thrown by Mike Sterling, I give you my list.
I started to do 100 (yes, there's some duplication. Hey, more than one person can like it, right), then started a list of things I'd say "d'oh!" over not forgetting and got 100+ there. One other thing: some particular creative runs are noted, and some with just the character. For instance, Spidey at #4 is noted, with particular creative runs mentioned on down the list. Also, any Grimjack by John Ostrander is good

Was Dynamite Magazine's "Superhero Confidential" that feature where they'd give an edited version of a character's origin? If so, that's the first time I saw Steve Ditko's version of Spider-Man, and it look very strange to my young eyes. Now, of course, I love the hell out of it. Great list, by the way.

Yes, Will, you got 2 pages of comic from the origin story and 1 page of Q and A about the character.
It certainly came in handy for Dynamite's first editor in chief Jeanette Khan, for her future position. Re: 100 Great Things About Comics

Nice list, and thanks for alerting me to this! I only take the time to make a real round of blogs every, well... not that often -- it's usually a matter of time -- and I might have missed this otherwise. I took a stab at it too, saving the looking around and comparing until afterwards. I don't see myself taking Fred's listing of a second 100 (which he does pose as an assignment) on as a task. Coming up with 100 as naturally as I could was fun enough.
