Mark Evanier has provided links to a response to the Democratic Social Security calculator I linked to here (or go down a couple of entries or so).
As Mark said in the above link, the plan is vague and unfocused (much like the Iraq war was presented), so rather than posting all 3 links, you can get them here, as I did express an interest in hearing of an opposing response.

You've probably read by now about the revamping of the Looney Tunes. I'm letting you know I'm not joining the hubbub, bub. As the author of any book turned into a bad movie will tell you, I have the original on my shelf, it's still there.
Of course, if you want to hear a better POV, go to the original, Mark Evanier.

Courtesy of Mark Evanier is a calculator to determine the difference in benefits between what is currently promised and what you'll get under W's plan.
As Mark said, let me know if you see an opposing response. Thursday, February 17

Over at Mike Norton's blog he comments on an interview from Frank Zappa that resounds even today even though he's no longer with us. Much like Bill Hicks' stuff.

Scott Kurtz wrote in his blog under his PvP strip in response to those who took offense over him using "Christ" in a previous strip. Update: has been archived, can now be found here.
Favorite quotes: "Apparently by taking their lord's name in vain, I've taken away some of their "power" and I'll have to repent. I'll need to apologize to God, say a prayer or something equally as ridiculous to put things right again." and "some fundamentalists (who were going to get upset about SOMETHING on Monday, regardless)" Welcome relief from a spouse that wanted me to apologize to God for saying Pat Robertson was an asshole. So I did. I said "God, I'm sorry Pat Robertson's an asshole". |
