While I do mourn the passing of Noriyuku "Pat" Morita noted here and here, I wanted to also note the passing of my Aunt Pauline, one of my dad's sisters yesterday. My parents decided to wait until today to tell us about it. She apparently passed resting in a chair yesterday at age 79. She always seemed to understand and appreciate my fanboy activities. Sadly, I won't be able to go to Michigan for the services, and this noting is the best I can do.

Sorry to read of your loss, Tony. The brief mention suggests she went peacefully and comfortably, which whilke never a strong comfort is one nonetheless.
Whenever we note the passing of some celebrity I almost immediately think of how many thousands of people died the same day, and how unfair it is that the world at large rolls on unmindful of any of it. MJN Re: Aunt Pauline

My best to you, Tony. As Mike said, if one must go, peacefully is at least some comfort to those remaining.
Noting the death of a celebrity is really an unspoken acknowledgement of all those other deaths... to dwell on the sheer number of people passing everyday would be overwhelmingly depressing and eventually numbing... so we focus on the famous to represent for us. Mark Re: Aunt Pauline

Very sorry to hear about your loss, Tony. My ex-father-in-law (my kids' paternal grandfather) passed away on Friday and it's been difficult here as well. Unfortunate that you won't be able to be with the family in Michigan, but I'm sure you will be remembering her in your own way.
