Okay, I did the research on this, it isn't quite buy one, get one free, but Polident is offering a ticket if you buy one via the Companion Booking website or calling their 800 number if you send in 5 proofs of purchases. Go to the first link to get the numbers and an idea of how much (and how feasible) it would be to take a trip this way.
For instance, Indianapolis to Orlando would run $320 for the first ticket, $9.95 for the second; plus taxes, security fees, etc. A search via Expedia puts two tickets at over $400.
Hey, I said up front it wasn't buy one, get one free; and I did some of the leg work so you wouldn't have to.

Used to, that headline meant something...but I'm getting ahead of myself.
As you've probably heard, TV Guide has revamped itself as a full-sized magazine with less emphasis on TV listings and more on articles and summaries. There's a big push for the magazine, with coupons offered in earlier issues. 50 cent coupons with double couponing at my friendly neighborhood grocer meant that I got the 99 cent special promotional fee for this issue for free. Even with that, I still feel ripped off. While I hadn't purchased it as faithfully as I used to, this new version is not one I will support in the future. The only listings per se are the generic grid like you will get in USA Today. Looks like any TV guide I'll be using in the future will be the one that comes with my Sunday paper. Well, I got the letter saying I didn't get it. It was the standard "decided to go with someone else" letter, since the application said if they found something on one of their checks that prevented them hiring me, they'd let me know. So the search continues

The testing went well, I think. One requirement was to be able to type at least 35 wpm with 95% accuracy. There was a practice test then another test. First one got 46 wpm w/100% accuracy, second one was 53 wpm w/99% accuracy. Before my last job I would've made it by the skin of my teeth.
As far as the other tests, I know of one question I messed up, but unfortunately I couldn't go back and correct my answer. I had to fill out an application and sign agreements to do all sorts of checks. Hopefully the credit one won't scuttle my chances. While I do owe quite a bit to the credit cards, I have not messed up on paying them. They said I'd either get a letter saying why I didn't get selected or a call to schedule an interview. So hopes and best wishes, etc still requested. |
