Well, I got the letter saying I didn't get it. It was the standard "decided to go with someone else" letter, since the application said if they found something on one of their checks that prevented them hiring me, they'd let me know. So the search continues

The testing went well, I think. One requirement was to be able to type at least 35 wpm with 95% accuracy. There was a practice test then another test. First one got 46 wpm w/100% accuracy, second one was 53 wpm w/99% accuracy. Before my last job I would've made it by the skin of my teeth.
As far as the other tests, I know of one question I messed up, but unfortunately I couldn't go back and correct my answer. I had to fill out an application and sign agreements to do all sorts of checks. Hopefully the credit one won't scuttle my chances. While I do owe quite a bit to the credit cards, I have not messed up on paying them. They said I'd either get a letter saying why I didn't get selected or a call to schedule an interview. So hopes and best wishes, etc still requested. Friday, October 7

Got an e-mail for a job I applied for requesting I come in for testing. Thing is, it was sent the other day and didn't get a chance to call until this morning. They said today was the last day of testing, but was able to schedule something for 1:30 (central time) this afternoon. So if you could send your prayers, best wishes, mojo, etc my way, I'd appreciate it.

Just got word from the state of Indiana: my former employers said I was fired for just cause, and the state says "sounds good to us" and denied unemployment payments. I guess they didn't want to consider that I didn't do what they said for firing (hanging up on customers) didn't want to check into other possible causes (phone system messing up or something else) and in the cases of their word vs. mine, they went with their. Fortunately, my mom is a president of an auto union and has offered assistance in filing an appeal.
Meantime, if any of you could check out my auctions maybe bid on something (if you're a Wallace and Gromit fan I have some auctions starting Sunday 10/2 at 6pm EST you might want to check out), or send some money via PayPal to comicplanet2004@yahoo.com I'd appreciate it. |
