Welcome back, my friends, to the Republican Horror Show that never ends: first, Dick Cheney wants Congress to OK torture. And I'm reading Al Franken's latest book The Truth with jokes and finished the chapter last night about how Tom DeLay supported such activities in Saipan, a country and their neighbors that in 1986 "became the American Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands, and their indigenous peoples were granted US citizenship." Therefore, American clothing manufacturers could set up sweatshops, pay the workers $3.15 an hour, make them work 14 hour days 7 days a week, and can still label their clothes "Made in USA". Also, any female workers who became pregnant were forced to have abortions. And don't get me started on the females lured with the promise of US citizenship and work who are forced into the sex industry in that country. Instead of giving people money to buy a clue, they should be given money to buy this book.
I can now avoid horror films for the same reason I avoid drugs: the real world's outdoing them.
