Spider-Man 2 is coming to DVD November 30th. Although the article says it is a month later than the first one was shipped, Spider-Man 2 was released June 30th, so technically we're actually getting the DVD about a month sooner than the first one.. Because IMDB indicates the first movie was released May 3rd in the US, and the DVD came out November 1st, almost 6 months later.

A fellow blogger that goes by T Bogg is offering a bounty for pictures of Republicans doing things that would make their Vicious Coalition masters angry.

Since Real Time With Bill Maher is off this week, I humbly offer a new rule: When governors resign, entertainers shouldn't try to get their names in the papers by saying they're considering running.

Lee Iacocca is starting a new project to fund a project to cure type I diabetes. Last fall one of the researchers his foundation has supported Denise Faustman, MD, PhD, of Mass General Hospital and Harvard Medical School, made history by reversing and curing type 1 diabetes in mice. The next step is to translate this research to humans.
$11 million is needed to fund this research for the next three years. He has put up the first million, and is asking 1 million to put up $10 each. I've sent my $11 (the website taking contributions charges a 3% processing fee, so I bumped it up another dollar. Also, they ask for $5 to donate to their site, but you can check it off, watch for that) and I'm asking you do the same here. Wednesday, August 11

Next time the oil companies cry that they're not getting rich from the high price of gas, if the record profits don't convince you otherwise, check this out.

Ron Perelman (the assbag that almost ran Marvel into the ground, not the Hellboy guy) is making a deal to buy AM General, the company that makes Hummers.
Wonder if it'll get to the point where a tank of gas is worth more than the vehicle it's in? Saturday, August 7

I know, it's nice I cap off wishing I posted more in my last post by not posting for a week, but things were super-busy at work this week. Didn't even let up until yesterday afternoon.
Today I took the wife to a place called Good Feet, a place that's supposed to help those with foot problems. She has an extra wide foot to begin with, and had been complaining of swelling. What they offered was 3 different arch supports, one to wear at work that she starts using 30 minutes and adds 15 minutes each day until she wears them while at work, a second for home and other shoes, and a third for home, for socks or slippers. With another pair of shoes, it's $600 that I have to make 3 monthly payments. She says she feels a difference, and glad she's not going to have to face a future of her feet getting worse. Meanwhile, if any of you want to buy anything from Amazon and can click on the link in the upper right of the page, I'd appreciate it. The ad may be for a different part of Amazon, but you can click on the section you want to go to to make a purchase. I'll get a small piece of it, maybe enough to actually get a check. |
