According to a Taiwan newspaper, we've got Osama cornered.

Here's an article about comics bloggers that I wish I was mentioned. Okay, I'm still relatively new, but I'm like most everyone, want to be mentioned.
Mark Gibson proposes a new political party in his February 23rd entry that I'd like to sign up for. Ralph Nader has announced his intention to run for President again. Mark Gibson (Feb 23rd entry), Mike Norton (ibid.), Margaret Cho talk about it. Mark Evanier points out he's running as an Independent, not as part of the Green Party. Whatever happened to running for the sake of running, and having a chance if you weren't Democrat or Republican? Robert Blake's looking for another attorney after his third one left. Although the article mentions Blake talking to the media leading to the first two quitting, and irreconcilable differences on the third one, a phrase about rats and sinking ships comes to mind.

Well, it's past the time frame for a call to be on Super Millionaire, so it looks like I'll be on the sidelines watching the show.
I'm not feeling too bad about it, given what I've written about it before. It was a lot like playing the lottery, some fun dreaming for a time. I set it up on the TiVO, looking forward to watching it tonight. Saturday, February 21

So I'm at the library with it's high speed internet access looking at movie trailers. The main area seems to be Yahoo. I saw Kill Bill Vol. 2, the new Punisher, and Around the World in 80 Days, with Jackie Chan. Governator Ahnuld makes an apprearance as some royal mucky muck looking for a wife for each day of the week. Really help his image there.
Unfortunately, can't think of other places to check out video that isn't porn. Exception is Atom Films with their Star Wars fan films. I'll probably think of other things to check out after I leave here.

A couple of interesting things from Mike Norton: a side of the box confirmation that Ghost Rider will be in the next set, and a list of confirmed/rumored from the next Marvel Heroclix set Ultimates, courtesy of Boneyard.

Here's an article about protests planned against the Iraq War being used to make companies (specifically, those that donated to Bush's campaign) richer while keeping the Iraqi people oppressed.

Called the 800 number for Super Millionaire last night, as I talked about here. Successfully answered all 5 questions on the first try. Selected the 25th as a tape date, and they said they'd call from 9am to noon on Monday the 23rd. I gave my cell number, and bending the rules at work to have it on and possibly use if I get the call, but it'd be worth it. The web site estimates that 250,000 will try by phone and 24,000 will try by computer. Of those, 4% will successfully answer the 5 questions and be entered into the pool. By my calculations, given 10 contestants selected, by odds are 1 in 1096 of being on the show on Thursday. Wish me luck!
Unfortunately, one is limited to only one entry, so this is my shot.

Diamond Comics has their March Previews up on their website.
The Batman action figures from the Animated series are solicited, although I only use it as an idea of what's coming up in the stores. Pay a slightly higher price and get them up to a month later? No thanks. And is it just me, or does the Joker figure's body look like Psycho the Weasel from Who Framed Roger Rabbit? And Wizkid's attempt to bring Heroclix into the mainstream. And here it is, Sabrina goes manga! Also, the Gold Key Star Trek issues are starting to be collected. I believe this includes the infamous Enterprise landing on a planet as part of the story, as the artist lived overseas and had limited references. Thursday, February 19

Apparently, the big news today is that Kevin Smith is writing and directing the Green Hornet movie. Snoogans!
Update: Here's link to the News Askew message board where Kevin answers some questions.

Superhero Hype announced confirmation that Morgan Freeman is playing Lucius Fox and Liam Neeson is Ra's Ah Ghul in the new Batman: Intimidation film. No official word if Katie Holmes is playing Talia.
Update: Apparently, Superhero Hype has posted a retraction from Variety. Mr. Neeson is playing Henri Ducard, mentor to Bruce Wayne. Again, from the headline, David Warner is available.

Wil Wheaton points out this Geek Heirarchy Chart.
Hmm, according to this, I think I'm less geeky than anime fans that use "Japanimation", LARPers, Trekkies that speak Klingon, and we all top Furries.

ABC's bringing back Who Wants To Be A Millionaire? as Super Millionaire, with the top prize being $10 million dollars, and two additional lifelines that are made available after successfully answering the 10th question, or $500,000: Three wise men, where a sequestered panel of scholars, journalists and former quiz show whizzes, have to answer within 30 seconds, and they don't have to reach a consensus. The other one is Double-Dip, where you can give a second answer if your first answer is wrong. The catch is, if you elect to use this lifeline, you have to answer the question, you can't walk away without answering.
I know ABC killed the golden goose by running the original version into the ground (and ad nauseum), but I'm looking forward to seeing this, much like when I first heard of the show. And I might try my hand at trying out. The only problem is the phone I have has the keypads on the receiver, which will cut down on the response time. The ads say you can apply online, but the rules say it is only for the handicapped that are unable to use the phone to apply.
