Presents have been bought, wrapped and put under the tree or bagged to take to familys' houses. Pretty much watched all the Christmas DVDs. Food is bought and ready to be cooked.
Nonetheless, posting may be light until the first of the year. I've got to get what free time I can get.

I got my ticket from
I've been combing the nets today for any word about Spamalot that opened last night. Apparently there is a press blackout until January 9th. But on the Python site is first word from Kim "Howard" Johnson. Now to find the words to "Always Look on the Bright Side of Life"... Found them! Thursday, December 16

Earlier I wrote about not being able to go to Spamalot. But I did a check at lunch for the 29th, the day my 4 day mini vacation starts, and was able to grab a ticket for that evening's performance. Sweet!
Now if only I can get a can of that limited edition Spam in New York. Anyone up that way interested in a trade...? And I don't care if it is a silly place, I am going. Wednesday, December 15

According to Mother Jones, buried within the No Child Left Behind (yeah, right) Act is a clause requiring schools to provide military recruiters with contact information on all their students.
From the article: "The new law does give students the right to withhold their records. But school officials are given wide leeway in how to implement the law, and some are simply handing over student directories to recruiters without informing anyone -- leaving students without any say in the matter." So get the word out to students to just say no. Tuesday, December 14

And to make things worse, Monty Python's Spamalot, the new musical based on Monty Python and the Holy Grail getting a tryout in Chicago before going to Broadway, is now sold out on the dates I can go. eBay is a no go, with 2 tickets on the dates in question going for over $100 a pop.

Saturday I was fixing up some plastic around a window to keep the cold out and ended up twisting my right ankle really bad. I was putting ice on it to stave off the inevitable pain, which didn't help when I had to take my wife to visit her mother in the hospital*, after which I got an ice packet and a bandage.
Sunday it seemed a little sore but okay. Monday I went to work, wrapped it up and brought the ice packet and Mineral Ice just in case. When I checked it in the afternoon, it was purple where my toes meet my foot. I put the ice packet on it until I was ready to leave, then saw where out side of the foot was all purple as well. It looked as bad as it felt Saturday. Didn't hurt, was just stiff. Got home, rested it and iced it some more. Today it looks the same but it hurts a little bit. Hopefully it'll get better, so I won't have to go on the Merry Go Round of doctors (go to a podiatrist, $25 please; needs something done, I only do that procedure Monday morning between 8 and 8:15, hello $500 deductable) I'm not an ATM machine. *Mom in law is on dialysis, on Friday had slurred speech, thought it was a stroke. I thought she sounded okay on Saturday, but the wife thought she sounded a little off. Next dialysis on yesterday, same thing happened, and they wanted to send her home. Sis in law found out it was because they were doing the dialysis too fast and had to change how they did it. |
