This is Tony Collett's weblog dedicated to my thoughts on the happenings in the world, comic books, anime, science fiction, DVDs, and anything else I encounter. I'm forty-something, male, and married (sorry, ladies)

Once again, the Republicans want to change the rules when it affects them. Courtesy Jesse Lee and the Stakeholder.
View Article  Domestic Charge Dropped By Cronies
From the streets of Cleveland comes this domestic violence case that was dismissed due to what appears to be cronyism and petty vindictiveness, including a prosecutor telling the accuser in the courtroom "I don't want to speak to you... Speak to your lawyer. I don't think you and I have anything further to talk about." I guess that's what you get when you worry about the accused bragging about not being convicted due to his political connections. Once again, the trolls win.
Also, here's a column by Regina Brett about the matter.

"My family's been suffering ever since I lost my job at the screen-door factory.... Basically, I'd give up if it weren't for God's grace. So it's good to know we have a president who cares about religion, too."
"That's why I always vote straight-ticket Republican, just like my daddy did, before he lost the farm and shot himself in the head, and just like his daddy did, before he died of black-lung disease in the company coal mines."

View Article  New DVD Tuesday
New DVDs I plan to pick up today are The Marx Brothers Silver Screen Collection and Gone With The Wind.
While I usually go to Best Buy, I've been popping over to Sam's Club down the road. It's usually cheaper, and so's lunch: I can get a New York-size slice of pizza and a pop for $2.65 with tax.
Update: I'm back. GWTW: $26.26, Marx Bros set $36.88, $3.79 sales tax, saved $10 over Best Buy.
